The InMyNameKYC platform is designed to work smoothly on most modern devices and to remain accessible to as many users as possible. This guide explains which devices are supported, how to enable camera and app permissions, and what to do if you experience any accessibility issues.

Supported Devices

You can complete your onboarding on:

iOS (Apple)

  • iPhone 8 or newer
  • iOS 14 or later

Android

  • Android smartphones released after 2018
  • Android 10 or later
  • Google Play Services enabled

Note: Tablets are not recommended because some models do not support secure biometric capture.

Browser Support (if using web links)

If your law firm sends a web link for initial steps, we support the latest versions of:

  • Safari
  • Chrome
  • Edge
  • Firefox

Older browsers may not support camera access or secure sessions.

Camera & App Permissions

Identity verification requires:

  • Camera access (to capture your ID and selfie)
  • Device storage access (to read and write temporary encrypted files)
  • Stable internet connection

If permissions are blocked, your device may show:

  • A blank camera screen
  • An error saying “Camera unavailable”
  • A spinning loader that doesn’t progress

How to enable permissions on iPhone

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll down to InMyNameKYC
  3. Enable:
    • 📸 Camera
    • 📶 Mobile Data
    • 🔔 Notifications (optional)

How to enable permissions on Android

  1. Go to Settings → Apps
  2. Find InMyNameKYC
  3. Tap Permissions
  4. Enable:
    • 📸 Camera
    • 📂 Files/Media (if shown)
    • 📶 Network

Accessibility Features

Supported

  • Large text and dynamic type
  • Screen readers (TalkBack & VoiceOver)
  • High-contrast mode
  • Device vibration feedback
  • Clear on-screen instructions for each step

Tips for screen reader users

  • Perform actions slowly; the camera preview may take a moment to announce changes
  • Keep the ID fully inside the frame until the device vibrates or gives feedback

If Your Device Is Not Supported

If your device can’t complete the verification:

  • You can try using another smartphone (e.g., family member)
  • Your law firm may arrange an alternative verification method
  • You can contact support for troubleshooting help
