Taking your photo!
Your selfie is used to confirm that the person holding the ID is really you. Entrust uses advanced facial-similarity and liveness checks, so your photo needs to be bright, centered, and natural.
✅ Follow These Steps
- Use good, even lighting.
- Stand near a window or soft light source.
- Avoid strong backlight or direct sunlight.
- Hold the phone at eye level.
- Keep your head centered and shoulders visible.
- Don’t tilt or angle your face.
- Look straight at the camera.
- Keep a neutral expression.
- Remove hats, sunglasses, or anything covering your face.
- Keep still.
- A short delay may occur while the image processes — stay steady until it’s done.
⚠️ Common Reasons for Rejection
- Face partly out of frame
- Eyes closed or face angled
- Too dark / too bright
- Filters or retouching applied
- Glasses glare or reflections
🧠 Why It Matters
Your selfie is matched against the photo on your ID using Entrust’s secure biometric engine.
It confirms:
- The ID belongs to you.
- The photo was taken live (not a screen or print).
- Your submission meets Home Office digital-identity standards.
